While reading scripture, always remember that it is a story of salvation, not secular history. Every character, from Adam to Jesus, represents states of consciousness rather than individual people.
In Blake’s Visions of the Last Judgment, he beautifully explained:
“It ought to be understood that the persons Moses and Abraham are not here meant, but states signified by those names as they were revealed to mortal man in a series of divine revelations, as they are written in the Bible.”
Having seen the entire divine play, Blake added:
“When you see them from afar, they appear as one man; but as you approach, they appear as multitudes of nations, as the One Man becomes the many.”
The first five books of the Bible, known as the Torah or the Law, record the beginning of human consciousness through the character of Abraham. Yet, the most powerful figure within them is Moses, the eternal, infinite state of consciousness that signifies something destined to be born within man.
The name Moses is derived from the Egyptian verb “to be born.” Thus, Moses represents the divine potential buried within each of us that will one day give birth to God-realization.
At the end of Deuteronomy, it is written:
“Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord. And He buried him, but no man knows his burial place to this day.”
This signifies that Moses is buried within you. The divine plan of salvation lies dormant in the human mind, waiting to be awakened.
Humanity builds monuments to preserve the memory of great individuals. Yet no one knows where Moses is buried, because his tomb is the human skull, Golgotha, the place of spiritual awakening.
Moses represents the seed of divine redemption. It is not limited to any race or religion but belongs to every soul seeking truth. The name Israel means “to rule as God.” Therefore, an Israelite is not a physical descendant of Abraham but one who has discovered the divine pattern of God within.
When Moses ascended the mountain of revelation, he saw the divine plan and returned to declare:
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”
Moses reveals God’s true name as “I Am.” He did not say, “I am Moses and the Lord,” but simply “I am the Lord.”
To call upon the name of God is to use this name in consciousness. If you desire wealth, affirm “I am wealthy.” If you desire health, affirm “I am healthy.” You must believe and feel it is real within your imagination.
The Lord gave Moses the rod of God, saying:
“Put upon it the fiery serpent, and everyone who looks upon it shall live.”
This is not literal. The rod symbolizes your spinal cord, and the serpent represents the divine energy that will rise within you when the plan of redemption begins to unfold.
Through this awakening, the lower energy of generation ascends into regeneration, transforming the human into the divine.
Moses could not enter the Promised Land because he represented the plan in germinal form. Joshua, filled with the Spirit of Wisdom, represents the unfolding of that plan.
The name Joshua is the Hebrew equivalent of Jesus. Thus, Joshua in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New Testament are one and the same, being the personification of God’s wisdom and power in action.
When this divine plan begins to unfold in you, you pass from the state of Moses into the state of Joshua, from promise to fulfillment.
There is only one creative being, God. Though He appears as countless individuals, He gathers Himself again into one body, one Spirit, one Lord, and one God and Father of all.
In the end, you will know yourself to be God, and you will recognize others as divine too. This is the mystery of oneness revealed through the state of Moses.
When you affirm “I Am”, you are calling upon the creative power of God within. You are using the same name that Moses was given on the mountain.
Whenever you assume your wish fulfilled, you are performing the divine act. Whenever you imagine lovingly for another, you are exercising God’s creative power.
Moses is not a man who once lived thousands of years ago. He is the eternal pattern of salvation buried within every human being.
Moses leads you out of bondage, the bondage of ignorance and limitation. Yet he cannot take you into the Promised Land. That journey you must complete yourself.
When you fully awaken to your divine identity, Moses transforms into Jesus within you. Everything written in scripture then unfolds as your own inner experience.
When you imagine lovingly, heal through faith, and live consciously in the state of “I Am,” you are fulfilling the law given to Moses and living the gospel of Christ.
This is the divine mystery: God became man that man may become God.
The plan of salvation personified as Moses is buried in every human skull. When it awakens, it unfolds through you as Jesus, revealing your true eternal identity.
Moses is the promise; Jesus is its fulfillment. Together, they form the eternal cycle of awakening.
The next time you read scripture, read it as a map of consciousness, not as ancient history. Moses represents the divine pattern of redemption within you, the power of God waiting to be realized.
