Manifesting Mastery

Manifestation Examples: 5 Real Stories and What Each One Teaches

The best manifestation examples are not theories about how the universe ought to behave. They are small, specific moments when something held in imagination quietly turned up in the world, often by a road nobody would have chosen. In this article I share five of them: four from my own life and one from a TrueCosmic student, each followed by the lesson it taught.

Before we begin, one thing is worth saying plainly. You are already manifesting. Everyone is, every day, through the assumptions they hold about themselves and their lives. The trouble is that most of us do it unconsciously, so the results feel like luck, fate or other people’s doing. A deliberate example is simply the moment you catch the process at work and realise that the hand turning the key was your own.

If the idea is new to you, our Start Here guide to what manifesting is lays out the foundations. Here I want to stay with the evidence of lived experience, because a single real story will often teach more than a shelf of explanation.

Five real manifestation examples

1. The green ball

My first deliberate manifestation came over a decade ago, and I begin with it because it reveals something most people overlook: we are manifesting all the time, only unconsciously. I was reading a book I still recommend wholeheartedly, It Is Done! by Richard Dotts. Dotts observes that we sabotage ourselves through over-analysis and worry. The more emotionally weighty a desire, the heavier its tariff. We imagine what we want, and then we anxiously watch for signs of whether it is working, when what is required is to relax and trust.

So he set a challenge: imagine something entirely random, of little or no significance, and let that be your experiment. The insignificance was the whole point. With nothing riding on it, there is nothing to fret over. I chose a green ball. I held it in imagination, and made no attempt whatsoever to engineer how it might arrive.

Two weeks later I was sitting in a park, meditating, my eyes closed and my headphones on, when I felt something brush against my left leg. I tried to ignore it. Eventually I opened my eyes. A little terrier sat at my foot, tail wagging, its owner some thirty yards away. The dog had dropped a ball beside me and was plainly waiting for me to throw it.

Coincidence, you might say. The park was full of other people. But it was a green tennis ball, exactly as I had imagined.

What it teaches: when nothing emotional rides on a desire, there is nothing to obstruct it. Begin small, and let the lightness do the work.

2. The call from Beth

Around the same time as the green ball, I kept testing the principle with desires that carried little or no emotional tariff. One of them taught me something I have never forgotten: never orchestrate the events.

I sat quietly and imagined I was speaking with my friend Beth. We had lost touch, and two years had passed since we last spoke. In my mind I heard us talking on the phone, and I assumed, without really thinking about it, that the call would come through WhatsApp. It came far sooner than I expected, in less than a week, and by a route I would never have chosen. I updated my phone and happened to install Facebook Messenger, an app I almost never use. Two days later, Beth called me on Messenger.

Neville and Richard Dotts both warn about what happens next. The rational mind rushes in to explain it away as coincidence, or as something that would have happened anyway. That is precisely the moment to double down and fortify your faith. Neville described the trap with unusual precision:

“if you use your creative power by imagining a desire is already fulfilled, when you get it, the circumstances will seem so natural that it will be easy to deny your imagination had anything to do with it, and you could easily believe that it would have happened anyway. But if you do, you will have returned to sleep once again.”

(Neville, in his lecture “Believe It In”)

What it teaches: the end you imagine is your business; the route is not. And when the result arrives looking ordinary, claim it rather than explain it away.

3. The marble worktop

The next example carried far more weight, and it came during our house renovation. The money had run out completely when Irene told me she wanted a marble worktop for the kitchen. Rather than argue with the bank balance, I sat down and imagined the kitchen finished: Irene standing in it, hearing her best friend tell her how beautiful it looked. I ran that scene five nights in a row.

On the Friday afternoon I walked into the marble showroom with the kitchen template, without a penny in my pocket, yet convinced the worktop was already mine. Scripture has a phrase for that posture: “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” (2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV). I spoke to the owner and placed the order. It came to over £5,000, the marble had to be ordered in, his team would survey the kitchen, and the full amount was due within ten days.

About four days later my sister rang. She said she didn’t know why, but something was telling her to call and lend me some money. It was £4,000. I had not asked her, nor even hinted. The rest came from friends, and every penny was in place before the marble was fitted.

What it teaches: the step forward comes first and the provision follows. I acted from the end, and the means arrived from a direction I could never have planned.

4. The roof tiles

The same renovation gave me another example. We were having a loft conversion and a rear extension, with the roof being extended. The builders were confident they could match the old roof tiles, so I went ahead in faith. Then we overran the budget, and discovered that no one in the country could supply a match. We were nearly 1,300 tiles short, with the roof half finished and the money already spent.

Each night I replayed one simple scene: walking up into the finished loft extension, looking around, and saying to the project manager, “Bruv, you’ve done a fantastic job here.” That was all. I could only speak those words if the job, roof and all, was complete.

Then a neighbour four doors down decided to rebuild her entire roof. Her builders were about to throw her old tiles into a skip. She offered us her matching tiles free of charge if we paid for their removal. We ended up with more tiles than we needed, at no cost.

What it teaches: the scene gives your attention somewhere to rest while the practical problem is still unsolved. I had no idea the tiles would come from four doors down, and I did not need to.

5. Rachel’s lottery win

The final example is not mine, and I include it because it shows the same law working through a different technique. Rachel Bertapelle joined our Neville Goddard Mystic Teachings group in 2021, enrolled at the TrueCosmic Academy, and took Fazila Bizior’s Back To The Future Workshop. The workshop is built on revision, Neville’s practice of returning in imagination to an event and living it as you would have wished it to be. In her own words:

“I revised that night to win the lottery. The next day my husband bought a lottery ticket and we won 25,000 euros.”

You can read Rachel’s full story of the 25,000 euro win and hear it from her directly in her video testimony.

What it teaches: the method can vary, scene or revision, but the principle does not. Notice, too, that the ticket was bought by her husband. Once again, the route was not the one anyone would have scripted.

What these manifestation examples have in common

Lay the five stories side by side and a pattern emerges. In every case a definite end was held in imagination as already accomplished. In every case the means arrived from somewhere unexpected: a terrier, an app I never use, a sister’s intuition, a neighbour’s skip, a husband’s ticket. And in every case the result came most freely where the person stopped watching for it.

That brings me to the errors I see most often.

Two mistakes stand above all others, and I honestly could not tell you which is more common. The first is checking every morning for evidence. You plant the seed at night, then dig it up at dawn to see whether it has sprouted. The second is deciding exactly how your desire must arrive, which narrows infinite intelligence to a single road of your own choosing. Both betray the same thing: a quiet doubt that what you assumed is already done.

The second deserves particular emphasis, because it is the one that feels most like being sensible. Had I insisted that Beth call on WhatsApp, or that the tiles come from a supplier, I would have been guarding a single door while the answer was knocking at another. Decide the end, and decide it clearly. Then leave the route entirely open. Your deeper mind has pathways you cannot see from where you stand, and every one of them remains available only so long as you refuse to choose for it.

When the result does arrive, expect the rational mind to file it under chance. Neville named the point at which that argument ends for good: “then no one will be able to persuade you that what happened was a coincidence.” (Neville, in his lecture “I am The Cause”)

How to create your own first manifestation example

The most useful thing I can give you is the challenge that began it all for me. Start with something of no emotional weight. Not the house, the partner or the cure; those will come in their season. Choose instead something light and random, the kind of thing you would shrug at if it never appeared. That is Richard Dotts’s challenge, and its genius lies in its triviality: with nothing at stake, there is nothing for anxiety to grip.

  1. Choose something small and specific. A colour, an object, a word on a sign. Make it definite enough that you would recognise it at once, and unimportant enough that you will not fret over it.
  2. Hold it as already yours. See it, and let the feeling be easy, almost casual, as one remembers rather than wishes.
  3. Say nothing about how. Do not imagine where it will turn up or who will bring it. The route is not your department.
  4. Stop looking. Resist the morning inspection. Go about your life, and let the seed stay in the soil.
  5. Practise each night. In the drowsy state just before sleep, enter one short scene that implies your wish fulfilled, a single moment that could only happen if it were already done, and feel it as complete. Fall asleep in that feeling.

When your small example arrives, and it may arrive in the most ordinary clothes, acknowledge it. Then raise the stakes a little, and go again. The confidence you build on trivial things becomes the ground you stand on when something truly matters, as it did for me when the money ran out in the middle of a building site. For the principle behind all of this, our guide to the Law of Assumption goes deeper.

A practice, not a trick

None of these examples was a trick, and none of them came from a single attempt. Think of a carpenter. No apprentice makes a fine cabinet on the first day; he learns on offcuts, measuring, cutting and joining small pieces of no great value until his hands know the grain. Only then does he take on the oak. Manifestation is learned the same way. The green ball was my offcut. The small experiments came first; the marble and the roof came later.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some examples of manifestation?

The five in this article are typical: a green tennis ball dropped at my feet by a terrier two weeks after I imagined it, a call from a friend I had not spoken to in two years, the money for a marble worktop arriving from my sister unasked, free matching roof tiles from a neighbour, and a student’s 25,000 euro lottery win after practising revision. Each began as an end held in imagination and arrived by an unexpected route.

How do I know it’s not a coincidence?

On a single occasion you cannot, and the rational mind will always offer chance as the explanation. Neville warned that results seem so natural that it is easy to believe they would have happened anyway. What settles it is repetition: when specific, deliberately imagined outcomes keep arriving, the pattern becomes your own evidence, and as Neville put it, “then no one will be able to persuade you that what happened was a coincidence.”

What should I manifest first?

Something with no emotional weight, as in Richard Dotts’s challenge from It Is Done!. A small, random object or event lets you practise without anxiety, and the lack of pressure is exactly what allows it to come through.

Why does manifestation take longer for big desires?

Big desires usually carry a heavier emotional tariff, so worry and the urge to check for progress creep in. The practice itself does not change with the size of the wish; what changes is how hard it is to stay relaxed and assume it done. That is why building confidence on small examples first is so valuable.

Do I need to know how my manifestation will happen?

No, and trying to decide the how is one of the two most common mistakes. In every example here the route was one nobody would have planned. Your work is to fix the end clearly in imagination and feel it as done; the means are left to a far wider intelligence than your planning mind.

Conclusion: your first manifestation example is waiting

These manifestation examples, from a green ball in a park to a roof made whole by a neighbour’s old tiles, all tell the same story. An end was assumed, the route was left open, and the world rearranged itself to match. You have been doing this unconsciously your whole life; the only invitation is to begin doing it on purpose.

Whatever stands before you today, small or overwhelming, its answer is not out there waiting to be earned. It is already in you, together with the very power that brought the stars into being and stands ready at your word. You are the one who moves that power. It waits for you to set it working, and once you do, no obstacle, no circumstance, no closed door can hold against it. Fear not.

Michael Sutherland

Michael Sutherland is the founder of TrueCosmic and a devoted student and practitioner of Neville Goddard teachings. His path to this work was not academic — it was forged in crisis. Raised as a devout Jehovah Witness and Baptist, Michael walked away from the church at eighteen and spent the next 25 years in what scripture calls the far country — the prodigal son, wandering. He built a life by the world rules, searching without knowing what he was searching for. When the biggest crisis of his life arrived, he turned back — not to the church, but to scripture itself. Through Neville Goddard teachings he found what the church had never shown him: that the God of scripture is not an external being to be feared and appeased. God is your own awareness. Your own consciousness. Your own imagination. The I AM within. What he discovered was not a set of Neville Goddard principles — these are cosmic laws, written about not only in the Bible but across every ancient spiritual tradition the world over. The same truth, expressed in different language, in every age. The law of consciousness operates whether we are aware of it or not. We are manifesting constantly — the wanted and the unwanted alike. Understanding how this law works allows us to work with it consciously and intentionally, directing it toward the experiences we actually desire rather than the ones our unexamined assumptions are silently producing. In 2017, guided by two mentors — Dr Bruno R Cignacco and Roupa Jetto, a hypnotherapist and Buddhist practitioner — Michael had his first transcendent experience during deep meditation. In 2018 came something he could never have sought or engineered: what is described across traditions as a Kundalini awakening. A sound like rushing wind in both ears. An electrical current rising from the base of the spine, so intense it seemed impossible to survive. Every experience that followed — out of body states, movement along the spinal cord, sensations inside the skull — was documented in scripture, passage by passage, hidden in plain sight. This is not something that can be earned or manufactured. It is grace. According to scripture, it is every soul birthright — every one of us will experience this unfolding, in this lifetime or another. Michael does not share this to define himself above anyone else. He shares it because it confirmed, beyond any doubt, that what Neville Goddard taught is true — and because that confirmation is the foundation on which TrueCosmic was built. TrueCosmic today is home to the most comprehensive Neville Goddard library available online — 292 lectures — alongside an academy of courses, masterclasses and workshops, and 13 specialist coaches serving students across every continent. At its heart is a global community of over 92,000 members, all discovering what happens when you begin to work consciously with the law that was always operating anyway. The invitation is simple: become aware of the law. Understand how it works. And begin, deliberately, to use it.
