How To Ignore The Current Reality When Manifesting

I Can’t Walk Around Blind Folded.

Learning How To Ignore The Current Reality

Many people often complain that they are not getting the results they desire when using the Law of Assumption. They struggle because they do not know how to ignore their current reality. When things don’t appear to be working out, they give too much attention to external 3D circumstances, constantly allowing this reflection to dictate their inner state.

What they fail to realize is that this self-sabotaging habit is exactly what blocks their manifestation.

You may have heard people say things like, “I’m trying to manifest my SP back into my life, but he hasn’t called in over two weeks,” or “I imagined myself starting my new job, but it’s been five weeks and nothing has changed. What should I do?”

These statements reveal a deep misunderstanding of how the Law truly operates. The moment you observe and react to the outer world as if it has power over you, you deny your creative authority. The external world is only a mirror of your inner state. When you keep noticing what is missing, you are simply reaffirming its absence and keeping yourself stuck in the same reality.

Those who call themselves conscious manifestos often fall into this trap, ranting and complaining about what they see in the physical world. It is as if they have completely misunderstood the profound teachings of Neville Goddard and the ancient mystics.

Let’s explore this lesson more deeply to uncover what Neville and these ancient seers were truly trying to teach. Once this concept becomes clear, you will never again fall prey to the old, limiting ways of thinking that have kept you from your desired reality.

Neville’s Teachings On The 3D Reality

MAN MOVES IN A WORLD THAT IS NOTHING MORE OR LESS THAN HIS CONSCIOUSNESS OBJECTIFIED. Not knowing this, he wars against his reflections while he keeps alive the light and the images which project the reflections.
“I AM the light of the world.”
“I AM (consciousness) is the light”.
That which I am conscious of being (my conception of myself) such as “I AM rich”, “I AM healthy”, “I AM free”, are the images.
The world is the mirror magnifying all that I AM conscious of being.
Stop trying to change the world since it is only the mirror.
Man’s attempt to change the world by force is as fruitless as breaking a mirror in the hope of changing his face. Leave the mirror and change your face. Leave the world alone and change your conceptions of yourself. The reflection then will be satisfactory.

Neville G. – Your Faith Is Your Fortune

Here, the instruction in this mirror analogy is clear. Our face represents our state of being. It is our attention and focus on changing this inner state that will create the desired 3D manifestation – or, in this case, the reflection in the mirror. By keeping this in mind and learning to respond rather than react, we greatly support the manifestation process.

Simple Exercise In Attention And Focus

At this moment, I’m sitting on a chair in a room. As I scan my surroundings, I notice the furniture, ornaments, and pictures on the wall.

Then, I see a large analog clock above the fireplace. As I focus my attention solely on the clock, staring at it intently for a prolonged period, everything else in my peripheral vision begins to fade. The ornaments and pictures are still there, but they no longer have my attention.

I’m not ignoring the other things in the room by consciously deciding, “I’m going to ignore this or that.” Rather, it happens naturally as a result of focusing entirely on the clock above the fireplace.

You see, when people talk about the things they are “trying to ignore,” that very conversation acknowledges those things and gives them attention. It literally reinforces the undesirable situation.

Just like the example of the clock on the mantelpiece, our attention and focus must remain completely on the imagined state. By doing so, we automatically ignore everything else, allowing those things to fade naturally into the periphery.

Remember the story when Neville wanted to go to Barbados? He was eager to talk to Abdullah about the absence of his manifestation on more than one occasion. What was Abdullah’s response? He literally slammed the door in Neville’s face!

I’m not saying it’s easy to ignore things, but having our own “clock,” so to speak, to focus on makes the process easier. The clock represents the imaginal state, and in the metaphysical world, that is the reality, not the 3D shadows.

By adopting Abdullah’s attitude of not even discussing problems or issues while faithfully awaiting their appearance in the 3D world, we strengthen our belief. This is something I have personally practiced with great success.

It’s our focus and attention that truly matter. When we spend time contemplating or discussing unwanted things, we are giving them validation and reinforcing the 3D reflection.

Remember, everything we see is a reflection of our state of consciousness. It’s this state of being that we can control. This understanding is what liberates us. We only need to choose where to place our focus to free ourselves from any undesirable condition we find ourselves in.

The old state we were once in is simply the reflection we currently see. The less focus and importance we give to these old ripples, the faster they fade and are replaced by new, more empowering states of being. Nothing in this world is permanent. Our present state today is shaping the experiences of our tomorrow.

“All great acts of genius began with the same consideration: Do not be constrained by your present reality.”
– Leonardo da Vinci

When we begin to see through the illusion of the 3D world, we become the solution itself. We do this through the internal eye of imagination. But it’s not about imagining once; it requires persistence and faith. Belief in this unseen reality, as taught by the ancient prophets, is the key to true manifestation.

Biblical Stories Reveal The Same Truth.

Throughout history, the Seers and prophets all spoke a similar message to what Neville teaches. Using symbolism and parables, they attempted to convey the same message on how to ignore the current reality when manifesting.

They taught the importance of focusing on the imaginal state as the solution to all problems. It was only when I began to read the Biblical stories as psychological instructions rather than secular history that I, too, was able to see the truth and deep meaning to these allegories.

Daniel focused on the I AM state.

There is a really appropriate story in the Bible that teaches us how to address an unwanted situation in the 3D world. It’s the story of Daniel in the lion’s den. You can read the story in your Bible in Daniel Chapter 6, Verses.

However, for the purpose of this article, let’s look at Neville’s mystical interpretation of this story and the powerful lesson it conveys.

Daniel In The Lions Den
This story was written for you to instruct you in the art in the art of freeing yourself from any problem or prison in the world.

Most of us finding ourselves in the lions den would be concerned only with the lions, we would not be thinking of any other problem in the whole wide world, but that of lions; yet we are told that Daniel turned his back upon them and looked toward the light that was God. If we could follow the example of Daniel while threatened with dire disaster such as lions, poverty or sickness, if like Daniel, we could remove our attention to the light, that is God, our solutions would be similarly simple…..

Lions represent seemingly unsolvable situations of a threatening nature. Every problem automatically produces its solution in the form of a desire to be free from the problem. Therefore turn your back upon the problem and focus your attention upon the desired solution by already feeling your self to be that which you desire..
Neville Goddard Your Faith Is Your Fortune.
My Consciousness Creates My Reality

The instruction is to focus on the solution. Which is I AM the state of the wish fulfilled. Nothing outside of yourself, your I AM, has the power to give life to anything. In other words, it’s your consciousness that manifests your desires. You need to completely surrender to this belief regardless of circumstances in the 3D world and never give power to anything outside of yourself.

This is the foundation of the Law as taught by the Seers and Neville. It’s the reason why so many struggle to consistently manifest. Giving power or belief to the external is not being loyal to the belief in I AM and will forever create struggle and frustration. The shadows are not real! As solid as they may appear, they are formed out of our own consciousness.

John 1:3 : All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made

The next time you find yourself drifting back to the old way of focusing on external things, remember the lessons discussed here and realize that by focusing on them, your consciousness is giving it life to continue in your world.

You Are the Consciousness Behind It All

Every outer condition you are looking at right now — the circumstance that says no, the situation that feels fixed — is formed from consciousness. Which means it can be reformed by consciousness. Yours. The outer world has no creative power of its own. It only reflects what is held within. Stop waiting for it to change first. It responds to you, not the other way around. The universe has no power over a consciousness that knows what it is. You are the operant power. That means you go first. Assume the best. Hold it. Watch what follows. Fear not.

Michael Sutherland

Michael Sutherland is the founder of TrueCosmic and a devoted student and practitioner of Neville Goddard teachings. His path to this work was not academic — it was forged in crisis. Raised as a devout Jehovah Witness and Baptist, Michael walked away from the church at eighteen and spent the next 25 years in what scripture calls the far country — the prodigal son, wandering. He built a life by the world rules, searching without knowing what he was searching for. When the biggest crisis of his life arrived, he turned back — not to the church, but to scripture itself. Through Neville Goddard teachings he found what the church had never shown him: that the God of scripture is not an external being to be feared and appeased. God is your own awareness. Your own consciousness. Your own imagination. The I AM within. What he discovered was not a set of Neville Goddard principles — these are cosmic laws, written about not only in the Bible but across every ancient spiritual tradition the world over. The same truth, expressed in different language, in every age. The law of consciousness operates whether we are aware of it or not. We are manifesting constantly — the wanted and the unwanted alike. Understanding how this law works allows us to work with it consciously and intentionally, directing it toward the experiences we actually desire rather than the ones our unexamined assumptions are silently producing. In 2017, guided by two mentors — Dr Bruno R Cignacco and Roupa Jetto, a hypnotherapist and Buddhist practitioner — Michael had his first transcendent experience during deep meditation. In 2018 came something he could never have sought or engineered: what is described across traditions as a Kundalini awakening. A sound like rushing wind in both ears. An electrical current rising from the base of the spine, so intense it seemed impossible to survive. Every experience that followed — out of body states, movement along the spinal cord, sensations inside the skull — was documented in scripture, passage by passage, hidden in plain sight. This is not something that can be earned or manufactured. It is grace. According to scripture, it is every soul birthright — every one of us will experience this unfolding, in this lifetime or another. Michael does not share this to define himself above anyone else. He shares it because it confirmed, beyond any doubt, that what Neville Goddard taught is true — and because that confirmation is the foundation on which TrueCosmic was built. TrueCosmic today is home to the most comprehensive Neville Goddard library available online — 292 lectures — alongside an academy of courses, masterclasses and workshops, and 13 specialist coaches serving students across every continent. At its heart is a global community of over 92,000 members, all discovering what happens when you begin to work consciously with the law that was always operating anyway. The invitation is simple: become aware of the law. Understand how it works. And begin, deliberately, to use it.
