Daring to assume that all things are possible to imagine, put this one reality to the extreme test by assuming you are the person you would like to be. Your reasonable mind and outer senses may deny it; but I promise you: if you will persist, you will receive your assumption :Neville Goddard Persistent Assumption

Why did Neville Goddard repeatedly say that a persistent assumption is so important?
Well it can sometimes be discouraging to know exactly where you want to be, but find yourself in the position of being unable to succeed in the timeframe or in the ways that you hoped. Oh how the ego mind always wants to be in control!
However, this shouldn’t be as discouraging as many people find it to be. It often takes a bridge of incidences that our limited conscious mind could never devise, that has to be taken to lead us to our manifestation.
Despite knowing this so many so called conscious manifestors struggle to persist in their assumptions. They frustrate and complain, yet the only way we will surely fail is if we completely give up on the goal we have in mind and start imagining something else.
I’m a member of quite a few Facebook groups and forums, I actually run one myself. The groups are an excellent place to share knowledge and opinions. I’ve also find the groups particularly inspiring. However there’s one thing I personally refrain from doing that is: to discuss my manifestations midway through the process.
I know opinion is divided on this but I’ve found that the less people I discuss it with the easier I’m able to remain in the State Of The Wish Fulfilled . How often I see people complaining in forums, that ” I’m trying to manifest but my SP hasn’t called me yet” or the job offer hasn’t materialized or some other gripe.
Not realizing that in doing so they’re focusing on the wrong the thing, the lack of what they desire. Suddenly other members pitch in with their well meaning advice not realizing that they too have just reinforced that state of lack.
It’s times like this that we have to stop this old unproductive habit, and act like Abdullah did when Neville wanted to go to Barbados.
You Are in Barbados and you went first. I mean how could I discuss how I was going to go when I was already there.
Sure it may have appeared at time to Neville, that Abdullah was insensitive not wanting to discuss ” how the manifestation was going” but here we see that an important lesson was being taught. He was teaching Neville to be persistent in assumption.
You have to remain loyal to the unseen reality. You must discipline yourself to be unwavering in your application as this is the key to manifesting and if you are how can you discuss it not arriving yet!
You must be in the state of already possessing the thing desired.
At these moments a little encouragement to remain faithful to your imaginal act is suffice. Anything more I believe is actually counterproductive, however we’ll Intended.
Whether we realize it or not our imagination is continuously in action. It never rests. Creating all the joys and woes of life we can either be a reactor or director in the path our imagination takes. This is the unique gift that man possesses.
Isn’t wonderful to know that the way and means of our desires have already been worked out. The bridge of incidence have been already determined. There’s no hard work on our part only to just trust your Imagination and remain faithful there’s nothing else.
“Dare to assume that you have your desire. You may feel you do not have the wisdom to find the means to get it, but you do. If it takes one thousand or ten thousand people to play their parts to bring you the embodiment of what you have assumed you are, they will play their parts, knowingly or unknowingly. “ Neville Goddard
Keep in mind that many successful manifestation stories, include events that at first appear as setbacks but in hindsight you realize they were necessary to achieve the desired outcome.
It cannot be emphasized enough the thing that all success stories have in common, it’s that the person never wavered in their persistence. It was important for them to remain focused and to continue remaining loyal to the unseen reality.
I’d like to include a short excerpt from one of Neville’s lectures. It’s Neville’s own experience it’s not one of his most popular stories, however I feel it really drives home the importance of persistent assumptions :
Back in 1943 when I came out of the army I was looking for an apartment. My wife and I had determined how much we were going to pay for it, but when we found the apartment the rent was more than we had planned to pay.
Realizing this, my wife said: “Well, that’s not demonstrating this principle, is it.” I said nothing. I simply paid the months of September and October, but when I went to pay the November rent the manager said: “I have an apology to make to you. An authority of the city came in and looked over my books.
He discovered that the apartment you have was formerly rented for less.” Then he quoted the new rent figure to me, which was to the dollar the amount I had originally chosen to pay. It took me three months of being faithful to what I had imagined I was paying, even though during that time I was paying more. But, since the reduced rent was retroactive to the day I moved in, I got it all back at the beginning of the third month.
I committed myself in my imagination, to what I was going to pay. I went looking, and because I was going to pay more – in his eyes – he gave me all kinds of concessions he would not have done had I paid him what the former tenant did. First of all he allowed us to pick out the wallpaper, the colors and rooms we wanted painted.
He even built a bookshelf for me which covered an entire wall, for all my books. He did everything I wanted; but if I had gone in there and gotten the rent for the amount I said I would pay, he would not have built the bookcase for me, given me the wallpaper, or painted the entire apartment to my specifications. Only then was the rent reduced to the amount I had imagined it to be, and we remained there almost fourteen years.
A Parabolic Revelation.
Now I know in my case when I first read this account I must confess that I would have gave up my endeavors at the point when he moved into the apartment. However Neville persistent assumption continued 3 months after the supposed fact!
This is now my blueprint for persistence. I often refer back to this story if ever I feel impatient or misaligned when manifesting my own desires.
So, if it seems like things aren’t going right, don’t assume that it is because your imaginal acts are constantly creating. When we don’t get what we want in the way we want it, it is an indication that our inner being knows the best and most harmonious way for this to unfold.
Remember as you walk in faith that which you have imagined is so, will become so.
