So what are daily affirmations and why should you care?

Put simply: Daily affirmations are simple, positive statements declaring specific goals in their completed states. It’s a way of tricking your brain into thinking that you’re already as successful as you want to be.

The repetition of these words create neural connections in the brain. When your brain THINKS you’re successful, you start to ACT in accordance with this successful mindset. This boosts your confidence, meaning that you’re more likely to BECOME successful in reality.

They take goal setting to a whole new level and, can really open your mind to what’s possible in a whole new and different way.

Affirmations help you to make the inner changes that support the achievement of your goals .

By creating the right affirmations and repeating your affirmations each day you provide a stronger intensity to your focus and which in time creates iron clad self belief.

There are many synonyms for affirmations that can help you grasp the concept better, and they help to describe the spectrum that is affirmations more effectively. These include:

Assertion

A statement that you strongly believe is true. a positive statement or declaration, often without support or reason. To assert is to state with force. So if someone makes an assertion, they’re not just testing out a concept — they really mean it.

An assertion is an affirmation synonym that  can also be used without words. When your cat urinates in multiple places up and down your property , he’s making an assertion of his dominance (also called “marking”) over his “territory.”

Asseveration:

The act of asserting, or that which is asserted; Is a positive declaration or averment like an affirmation its a statement of intent a declaration of one’s position statement asserted; position advanced.

However in the context of this article if I were to continue to claim I am wealthy, my belief would make it so.

 Declaration

A formal statement or the act of making an official statement about something.  More often than not the declaration can be in writing.

A written statement is another way of declaring something. That’s why scripting or written affirmations have proven to be so powerful.

How often should you say your affirmations?

Affirmations can be life changing.

One question a lot of people ask me is: How often should I say my affirmations? Actually there’s no hard and fast rule, but at least three times a day is recommended.

This is often enough to get the messages through to your subconscious mind. Certainly, you can always recite them whenever you have a spare moment and don’t have to concentrate on anything else.

That’s why a mantra makes sense because it’s easy to remember – otherwise, you can always carry notes or have it as a screen saver on your smartphone.

Always Say It In The Present Tense.

Reciting positive, believable affirmations every day not only cements them into your subconscious mind so that they become a part of your psyche, but it also brings another, interesting phenomenon into play your subconscious mind.

Much has been written about this phenomenon and how powerful it can be. But did you know that affirmations is one of the most effective ways of Impressing the subconscious.

This is why you should always recite a positive affirmation, and why you should always keep it in the present tense –

Be sure to avoid using negative language – even in a positive context. Something like: “I’m worthy of a better job than this one.” will be much more effective than “I’m not going to put up with this job for much longer.”
